It is always the brands which are well marketed which have the least nutrition and very little to do with animal health. Fancy Feast reminds me of Friskies which is another story. Consumers tend to buy with their eyes and emotions instead of with their minds. If we had informed consumers we would never tolerate this type of deception.
The package says real seafood and shrimp yet what they don’t tell you is that there is more soybean, corn, and rice in the food than shrimp.
This product much like Friskies is just not meant to be on a store shelf. The first and largest ingredient is rice. This is followed by animal by-products. After that, there is more corn. These are the main ingredients in weight.
You then have some beef by-products and more filler in the form of corn and soybean. Only after this do you get some fish and shrimp which is more like trace amounts rather than what the advert sells. They finished this off with a multivitamin and like other bottom products they add artificial color to the food so the buyer can think it all good.
What’s good about this food.
It’s cheap and if this is all you can afford then consider mixing this with another high-end cat food in an 80/20 ratio. Buy a good quality cat food such as California Naturals to balance the animal’s diet. You simply cannot feed a cat on brewers rice and corn.
