Flint River (Cat & Kitten)

The price tag on this food is very high and you would think at this cost that you would be getting a good cat food until you look at the ingredients on the bag. Pet food with large and good advertising budgets I have become very suspect of. You expect that the food can sell itself – this is however not so. This brings to mind Friskies.

The main ingredient is a chicken meal which is a very good source of animal protein, however, the very next ingredient after this is yellow corn. If you are going to use grains then why not stick to something better than corn such as brown rice.

Of the ingredients in this cat food, there are three of them which are corn-based products.  This is not normal for cat food especially not cat food at this price. They have also added in wheat and brewers yeast which is not goofing and can cause allergies in your animals.  With the price tag on this food, one would expect them to use barley and brown rice instead. There is also lamb meal in this product and fish meal but no sign of a property omega 3 fatty acid source unless they expect the bit of fishmeal to make up for it.

What is good about this product

It has good sources of animal protein but considering the price tag on this food, one would expect a product that is grain free. It is an average cat food but not one that you would want to spend the type of money on when you look at the price tag. Actually, it is rather ridiculous.
