Purina Beneful

Purina has one of the best names in the pet food industry and Beneful has had a long following from pet owners of the years. Beneful must be one of the best selling brands that they have made and marketed as a middle budget pet food.

The only problem with Beneful is that it is full of grain and by-products and this is not normally what consumers really want. The main and biggest ingredient is corn which is not a good way to start any pet food product. The protein source for Beneful is a by-product which everyone hates to buy for their animals as the protein is normally very unbalanced when the protein source is chicken innards and what was left over from a chicken slaughter.

Instead of using rice they have opted for rice flour which degrades the nutritional value of the product even more. They have added some beef but this is in minute amounts as listed. They have also added sugar to the package and this has its own problems as dogs are not suppose to eat refined sugar.

Good Points:

I can’t find anything good to say about this product. Personally, I will go for something in this price range such as Kirkland or Royal Canin which has also been listed here.
